Public Consultation No. 2
The second public consultation for the Lough Ree Greenway was scheduled to be held between 11th March and 2nd April 2025 but is now extended until Friday 11th April 2025 at 4pm.
The consultation will be held online through this project website in addition to the in-person public consultation day:

The project team would like to invite everyone to participate in this consultation both through this website and at our in-person events as local feedback is crucial to the success of this project.
Local Feedback
Local feedback is central to the success of this project. We welcome your views, ideas and concerns throughout the development of the project on the following:
- Potential routes that could be considered.
- Any potential constraints known to you.
- Locations, attractions, or facilities in your locality that could be attractive to, or benefit from a greenway.
- Scenic and/or heritage features in your area.
- Environmental / Biodiversity features you wish to highlight to the project.

Public Consultation No. 1
In Phase 1 (Concept and Feasibility), the first public consultation for the Athlone to Ballyleague / Lanesborough Greenway was held in March 2023 and displayed the study area for the project. An in-person event took place at the Hodson Bay Hotel, Athlone on 23rd March 2023. Feedback received helped inform the development of Phase 2 (Options Selection) route corridor options for the scheme.
